This radio, originating from 1937,  was found at a Belgian radio swapmeet.  It is a battery operated radio and requires batteries of 1.5 and 90 V. The 1.5 V battery is providing the filaments of the 4 tubes with power. Those battery tubes are: 1A7G, 1N5G, 1H5G and 1C5G.

The Philco 39-70 is a super-heterodyne receiver with an IF of 470 kHz and only MW coverage (550-1700 kHz; 180-545 m). The wooden cabinet measures 30 x 36.1 x 17.1 cm (width x height x depth).
